I walked 9,000 steps before you were even awake

The Great Wall was invaded this morning, not by Mongolians but by two teams of sleepy Pitt students. Although I participated in the slower, Alpha team, we all reached the top and decended on a nearly private section of the wall. Of the four times I've climed the wall this was by far the best and a big thanks to Steve for selecting such an excellent location. This evening's dinner with Counselor Xu Shangwei and his wife was both delicious and intellectually stimulating. In addition to a bit of ancient history we recieved a good reminder that labels of communist and capitolism are loaded with more history and stigma than the media lets on.
Tomorrow brings a whole new hiking adventure around the city, but hopefully a couple of hours of sleep first. It's 11:30 here and we've been awake since 5:30 this morning. ~Allison
